A high society young woman travels out west in search of a husband only to discover that she has been catfished by a teenage boy. Now stranded, Polly, must find their place in this ever-changing new world.

The story follows Motoko Kusanagi, a highly skilled member of the military, whom upon meeting Daisuke Aramaki, a current chief of the Public Security Section 9, in less than desirable conditions struggles to clear her name whilst forming her own independent team with the highest priority under the sponsorship and guidance of the chief Aramaki himself. Exhibition 　　Stepney Western (United Kingdom, 2025) by Harry Lawson is a documentary made in collaboration with a group of young horse riders from the inner city Stepney Bank Stables in Newcastle, sits at the porous boundary between fact and fiction, combining recontextualised iPhone clips shot by the riders, archival material from North East Film Archive and Lawson’s own footage.
